Ye I am going to go mad and get a DSLR. No idea which one though. They're all a minor incremental improvement on each other with disproportionally increasing prices. Which makes me think the cheapest one is probably 85% as good as the best one. Maybe like with wine I'll assume the cheapest must have something defective about it and go for the second cheapest.

I'd like one with a lot of zoom so I can take pictures such as this one of a Powerful Owl (attached).
